I was hoping all you guys out there could list all the possible passive debuffs your class can produce. include talent based ones.

i.e. fireball's DoT, deep wounds, etc.

NOT rend, corruption, faerie fire, and such.

if we could get a running list of all the debuffs that will occur that we cannot control, we can start to plan out possible debuffing strategies for raids.

edit: changed thread title.

Shadow word Pain
Shadow weaving
devouring plague
Vampiric Embrace
Mind Flay

All these give a debuff of some sort...whether thats what you meant or not =]

kind of.. but those are all spells you actively use.

I'm think more along the lines of blackout's proc... that leaves a debuff for the duration of the stun, and is something that (mostly) cannot be controled.

the reasoning behind this is blizzard's post on the general forums. they stated that the 10 debuff cap was intentional, to add an extra element of strategy to raids. this implys to me that by making an effort to control the debuffs we apply to a mob, we can pick and choose the most beneficial ones for a significant advantage.

this list, however, is to see how many debuffs we can actually put on a mob without the least recent ones being overwritten.

to start off, I know that a mage's fireball and frostbolt each add a debuff to a mob. warriors will add deep wounds when they crit. priests will proc blackout when they cast shadow spells.

again, help with this would be appriciated. next time you play your class, keep an eye out for any random debuffs that are added when you use a spell/ability. I honestly don't believe blizzard would claim this is an element of strategy they added if it's not possible to control it for our own benefit.

Mage
-Fireball (kinda lame DOT tho)
-Frost bolt (something along the lines of 50% speed 50% attack swings)
- Pyroblast (decent DOT)
-Ignite, which is a fire talent (planning to get it) that burns the target for 65% over 4 secs after every crit.
- Umm, the fire tree offers a talent called Firepower which adds a 2sec stun.
- Cone of cold (50% reduced speed)
- That's it I think. Frost mages will have more probably.

the only passive one i have is improved shadowbolt, which sticks to a mob and causes the next 4 sources of shadow damage to be increased by 20%

all my other "debuffs" are spells

Cant think of any that a shaman has.

Though the main problem i can forsee here is procs from weapons many of the high lvl items have procs like -armour or poison or shadow dmg over time. These are all kinda shitty dots but will take up a slot which we want to avoid.

alright, thanks guys.

so far we have:

priests - shadow procs 2 (1 stun based)

mages, fire procs 3(1 stun based), ice procs 2, and arcane procs 0?

shamans, no procs outside flameshock

druids, 1 for starfire (stun based)

warlock, 1 proc

now, against most raid bosses, I think its safe to assume an immunity against stuns, so we can disregard those.

we still need to hear from warriors, hunters and rogues. also, if you see a flaw in the existing list, please post a correction.

not sure if this appropriate, because it is a normal spell-- dispell magic. great debuff on both mobs and npcs. : /

shamans-

stormstrike-leaves an icon when it lands.
frost shock-leaves the ice/slow icon
flame shock-DOT icon.

Shouldn't matter. shamans shouldn't really be using any shocks on onyxia, since each of those shocks is almost the same amount of mana as a Lesser Healing Wave.

Warlocks have Nightfall, which is awsome. 2% chance Corruptioin or Drain Life will proc an instant cast Shadowbolt.
