I'm still unsure whether i should go for arcane power or blastwave. Blastwave has a 6 sec daze affect to it, which is nice in pvp. Arcane power has 35% increase in damage along with other arcane talents. Here's the template I will most likely implement in the future. Lemme know what you guys think.

Arcane Talents (32 points)

Improved Arcane Missiles - 5/5 points
Gives you a 100% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while channeling Arcane Missiles.

Arcane Concentration - 5/5 points
Gives you a 10% chance of entering a Clearcasting state after any damage spell hits a target. The Clearcasting state reduces the mana cost of your next damage spell by 100%.

Improved Arcane Explosion - 5/5 points
Reduces the casting time of your Arcane Explosion by 1.5 seconds.

Evocation - 1/1 point
While channeling this spell, your mana regeneration is active and increased by 1500%. Lasts 8 seconds.

Improved Mana Shield - 2/2 points
Increases the damage absorbed by your Mana Shield by 75%.

Improved Counterspell - 2/2 points
Gives your Counterspell a 100% chance to silence the target for 4 seconds.

Arcane Meditation - 3/5 points
Allows 9% of your Mana regeneration to continue while casting.

Presence of Mind - 1/1 point
When activated, your next Mage spell with a casting time less than 10 seconds becomes an instant cast spell.

Arcane Mind - 4/4 points
Increases your maximum Mana by 8%.

Arcane Instability - 3/3 points
Increases your spell damage and critical strike chance by 3%.

Arcane Power - 1/1 point
When activated, your spells deal 35% more damage while costing 35% more mana to cast. This effect lasts 15 seconds.

Frost Talents (0 points)

None

Fire Talents (19 points)

Improved Fireball - 5/5 points
Reduces the casting time of your Fireball by 0.5 seconds.

Ignite - 5/5 points
Your critical strikes from fire damage spells cause the target to burn for an additional 40% of your spell's damage over 4 seconds.

Flame Throwing - 2/2 points
Increases the range of your fire spells by 6 yards.

Pyroblast - 1/1 point
Hurls an immense fiery boulder that causes 148 to 195 fire damage and an additional 56 damage over 12 seconds.

Improved Flamestrike - 3/3 points
Increases the critical strike chance of your Flamestrike spell by 15%.

Burning Soul - 1/3 point
Gives your fire spells a 25% chance to not lose casting time when you take damage.

Incinerate - 2/2 points
Increases the critical strike chance of your Fire Blast and Scorch spells by 4%.

I was thinking the same thing, but not for just one spell. The increased mana and mana regen, increased mana shield, 3 % increase for crits , and PoM , are all nice in the arcane side of the skill trees. I don't think one spell will convince me to invest anymore points into fire.

I am going Arcane power - It really just depends on how you want it built.

I went Arcane on my CB mage and i think it was the best all around build. Blastwave stun effect is awesome though

arcane power. the blast wave stun is not a stun, it's a daze type effect. if they take any more damage they can move.

get arcane power. you do 35% more damage every 3 minutes for 15 seconds

After playing mage for some quite time, the arcane side is definetly the way to go. Any mage that does not go this path for pvp is wrong. I'll have an update talent spec if anyone is interested in the future .

Most of my talents are in fire, and I'm working my way in arcane to PoM. I do fine with fire and pvp, but that could just be how I like to play. I dont think you can really go wrong just different play styles.

now, I havnt played a mage for many months, but why is it I never see any frost mages? sure, your single target dps is lower, and duels will be more difficult, but the group/raid pvp applications of imp blizzard/nova, winter's chill, frost bite, and ice block/barrier are something i'd never turn down.

maybe there's something you more expierienced mages can let me in on that I'm missing?

Im Major frost and minor arcane. And yes... I have only seen one other mage like me and it was alliance. my oh my was that a interesting battle.

I dare to be different, its not all about 1v1 pvp. I am a solo player and in group PVP.... lets just say: ouchies

keep in mind that i am basically gimp till lvl 55-56, but thats the path I chose. The only thing that people really call me gimp about is that the way I am building my character, I get insta-cast AE @ lvl 56. To me this isnt a big deal, but I cant wait to have it back. I miss it the most out of my Major arcane minor frost build in beta.
I just wanted to be different and i enjoy playing a harder build.
