My friend gave me his account and I cant get ahold of him to get the email instructions how to continue playing so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this and let me know how to do it THX

Basically, they're taking all servers off-line for several days in preparation for Open-Beta. All of our closed beta accounts will be copied over, or retained-- wasn't to sure of that last part. Either way, our characters are being copied over in one way or another.

Once they've fixed some stuff (this is all recollected from reading my email last night at home, and I'm at work now) they'll have the 0.13.0 patch available for download-- which we'll be able to download and apply. However, until they've tweaked the servers we won't be able to log into our characters or create new ones.

BL is going to be Horde just for open beta, so plan on developing an evil character, dead kitty! ;P

If there is a wipe for open beta we're going horde, if there is no wipe we'll stick to alliance and test the new content.

Yeah, its like "as well" only funnier...

The e-mail will probably just tell you to dl a new client/patch.

As long as you're able to login the WoW website with your login/password, you'll be fine.
