Hi,

I have been having a computer issue for a few months now, and its not extremely bad just really inconvenient and would like to figure out what is wrong with it.

Problem: Computer freezes randomly, not from what I can tell from any graphic usage issue or heating issue. I have ran MEMtest and ran it through 5 times and I was unable to get any errors so the RAM from what I can tell is fine. I then did a stress test and it was unable to bring anything to my attention, with heating issues at all. I then ran both my SSD and 2nd HHD for errors/corrupted files and again nothing came up. I am down to it being the SSD not cooperating with the Mobo, the OS being bad, reason I say this is it took 3 installs when I originally for the computer for it to work properly, and the Mobo just being bad and something not working correctly on it.

If anyone can think of anything that would be able to help me on figuring out what it is, rather than replacing a new SSD for 200 bucks and Mobo for around the same.

I was able to manage a BSOD error code, they were different after the initial code from the stop:

here is the codes I was able to get.

STOP: 0x000000F4 with the following ending codes

1) 0x00000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA800E99DB30, 0xFFFFFA800E99DE10, 0xFFFFF80035DE8B0

2) 0xFFFFFA800F3CFB30, 0xFFFFFA800F3CFE10, 0xFFFFF8000359E8B0

3) 0xFFFFFA800F2C7680, 0xFFFFFA800F2C7960, 0xFFFFF800035E48B0

These are the codes all starting with the initial Stop code posted above. I have no idea what to do from this point and I figured maybe someone in a top guild would have some experience with troubleshooting a computer problem.

Any help is appreciated, thanks a bunch in advance.

Hi there, I'll try to help you with this issue. I'm not a PC guru or anything remotely close to that, but I should at least be able to help you figure out what the problem is with your system.

The error code clearly indicates a hardware issue, but at this point we don't know what exactly is causing the problem, google indicates it's probably the hard drive but I will need more info before we can say it's the SSD for sure.

First I need to know a few things:

- All your computer specs (including number of ram sticks, an PATA/SATA devices connected to it, etc)
- Did you use the computer with the OS on a HDD before using your SSD? If so, did you have the same issues?
- Did you check the SSD for errors on a different computer?
- Do you have another desktop you could try some of your hardware on?

Try doing these and see if you can get the computer to freeze again:

- Remove all but 1 ram stick on your MB.
- Remove all SATA/PATA/USB devices on your computer but the one that has your OS installed.

Can you get the minidump file generated by your OS? It should be under C:\Windows\Minidump\"Name of the file".dmp

There's probably multiple files, if you can get me all the files it would be better.

You can email me the files @ ciraxbl@gmail.com

I hope we can figure out what the problem is :/

the Specs to my computer are as follows:

Intel core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.4 GHz
RAM: G.skill Ripjaws x4 sticks of 4Gbs/stick.
GPU: VGA EVGA|01G-P3-1563-AR GTX560 TI R
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-850TX 850W RT
Mother Board: Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3-Z68-1155
SSD: 120G OCZ Vertex3 25SATA3
HHD: 1Tb WD 7K 64M SATA3
OS Windows 7 Home edition

I do not currently have another desktop I can try these parts separately on. I built this desktop using the SSD the entire time. I had problems installing the OS from the beginning and had to reformat 3 times in order for it to take correctly. I did not try my SSD on another computer as again I do not have any others to try it on. I will try removing the RAM 1 stick at a time and see how it works. I saw a few solutions where it might be that the configuration of everything didnt work properly the first time. And that taking everything out and placing it all back in with 1 stick of RAM and then rebooting adding another rebooting and adding another and so on and so forth til all 4 sticks are in might have a positive affect on it. I will try that later on and see what happens.

As far as the Minidump files. The entire folder is completely empty leading me to believe it is not recording the problems and therefore may be something with that that might be a problem as well(not specifically the minidump, but things associated to it).

Otherwise, that is all the info I have atm.

I'm entirely unsure of your case, most cases that I have that are similar to yours are either overclocking issues or your hard drive taking too long to process

Try to decrease your clock to 3.0ghz and see what happens. If it still freezes, its prob the hard drive. I used to have a similar experience then I just the HDD replaced. These are just basic ways to find the "common" culprit of the problem. If it fails do post again

i am not overclocking so it definitely is not that issue at all. I have it, from what I can tell, narrowed down to the mobo and the SSD/OS.
